In 1937, Endre Steiner, a Jewish architect from Slovakia, designed the six-level building in Žižkova Street for Marianna Weiner.
The minimalist facade segmented only by a grid of windows has a single prominent feature in the elongated balcony on the first floor revealing the traditional location of the owners' apartment. Unlike the other apartment units, the owners' suite was fairly generous, as it had five rooms and was accessible via two entrances. Each of the other floors housed a two-room and a three-room apartment.
The thermal insulation recently added to the building has spoiled the graceful detail of the windows aligned with the facade as well as its original restrained hue.
